Meet Design Team Member: Ann

Happy Friday to everyone! I know some of you are as ready for the weekend as I am! Whether it is to catch up on some crafting, do something outdoorsy, or just get some rest and relaxation, I hope that you have a great one. Now, on to my short bio.

My name is Ann and I’m one of the three lucky ladies who’s fortunate enough (despite tough competition) to be chosen by Chris as part of your new Kaboodle Doodle design team. You’ve already met Linda and on Sunday you’ll be meeting Angie! Some of you might have seen me around in other challenge blogs (I usually use “raindropecho” instead of “Ann” because there are just too many of us), but I’m here today not to share a card, but to share a little about myself.

I’m 25 years old, turning 26 in October. I currently live in Los Angeles county in Southern California with my boyfriend and our three dogs. Our dogs are our kids, for now. I have more scrapbooking embellishments about dogs than I do about anything else, and I’m not ashamed of it. Although I don’t think of myself as a pet parent, I often catch myself talking to my dogs when I’m alone and making cards. Some of you might think that’s weird, but I know others are thinking, “Hey, I do the same thing!”

A little bit about my crafting: I’m a scrapbooker at heart, try to paint when I get the nerve (and when I don’t mind cleaning up the mess), alter objects when I get inspired, but currently very addicted to making cards and collecting stamps. I’ve only really been cardmaking since May this year, but I love getting to use my scraps. I love all types of stamps (clear, rubber, cute, classy, etc.) and my style varies.

I graduated in 2006 from UCLA (go Bruins) with my Bachelor’s in Physiological Science. I love the logic that science provides because it just clicks for me. I love facts and proving theories. I was “forced” to take a permanent vacation from my job due to the horrible economy, but I’ve found a pick-me-up in creating cards and in art. It’s been nice to take a break because it has allowed me to take some time to get in touch with my creative side. I’m inspired by nature, by loved ones, by life, by all crafters and I hope I can do the same for others.

Well, that’s a little about me! I hope that you come back on Sunday for Angie’s bio and if you missed Linda’s, check below. Make sure to check on Monday for Challenge #8 and to see who won the paper kindly donated by Chris!

Meet Design Team Member Linda

Hi Everyone, my name is Linda and I am from Plymouth in the UK. I have been married to Ian for 25 years and we have 3 grown up children, 1 grandson and a grandaughter due in September. We are owned by Max our 1 year old Jack Russell who was an unexpected but wonderful addition to our lives last year.

I have been crafting for many years and I was taught how to knit by mother when I was 5 years old and then learnt how to crochet. When I got married I took up cross-stitching and this led onto cardmaking and scrapbooking. Our grandson Connor and our dog Max are my main photo subjects for my layouts

My favourite craft at the moment though has to be cardmaking - there are just so many wonderful products out there to try. I have to confess though that I am addicted to rubber stamps and have built up quite a collection, which is fuelled even more with me being an independant Stampin' Up! demonstrator. I also love pretty papers and I am really enjoying all the lovely new papers that are available to download as well as those that can be bought from the shops.

I am really excited about being selected as one of the new Design Team Members on the Kaboodle Doodle challenge blog. I hope you'll join in with the challenges and have as much fun as I am sure I am going to have taking part in this blog. I also hope that I will be able to provide you with some inspiration along the way.

Challenge #7 - Color Challenge

Challenge #7 is a color challenge! The SU colors used here are Apricot Appeal, Sage Shadow, Lovely Lilac and Real Red. Feel free to use any other inks that closely approximate these colors!

Here is my sample:

Here is a sample from one of my Monday night stampers who helped me out with selecting the colors - thanks Diane!

This challenge is open until June 30 and I will choose a winner using Random.org from all the cards submitted. The winner will win a 6x6 sampler pack of new Stampin' Up! designer paper - Razzleberry Lemonade!

We've had a rocky few months here on the Kaboodle Doodle Challenge blog. Lots of changes have occurred and more are to come. Later today I will announce the 3 NEW DESIGN TEAM MEMBERS! I know you will all be delighted with their contributions to this blog, I know I will be!

The blog is going to be getting a bit of a facelift and Andrea has promised some new papers to showcase very soon. Thank you so much for hanging in there with us as we undergo these changes. You'll have to be a bit patient with me as I am in a different time zone from many of you and definitely from the other design team members. I'll get adjusted - promise!

Leave a link to your card in you comment below and you'll be entered to win the Razzleberry Lemonade sampler pack!

Thanks again!
